Microsoft released Small Business Server 2011 on December 13, 2010, during WPC 2010 and it appeared to be the last version of Small Business Server as we know it. No longer we will have a suite bundled with Exchange Server, SQL, and Sharepoint. It was a good solution, no it was a very good solution for SMB’s, but all good things come to an end. However, in Microsoft Small Business Server 2011, Microsoft DNS runs as an essential service to resolve local network addresses by acting like a middle man in the peer to peer DNS infrastructure, while at the same time giving the full power of DNS to the local network.
